Laranja Oliva - Rock Funk & Soul (Brazil)

A mix of rock'n'roll and a unique sound coming from African culture, Laranja Oliva brings his identity to the song Wei-Ji, track that integrates the second album of the career of the band from Limeira, in the interior of São Paulo - Brazil. The single, which integrates the new album Carta da Terra, was produced by Hugo Silva and is inspired by the sound that comes from the African, Chinese and indigenous Brazilian culture. "It was wonderful to record this work.It is a reaffirmation of human inconstancy and at the same time a conscious embodiment of peace.Wei ji basically means opportunity / crisis. We understand then that there are opportunities amid the crisis and this relationship, between the two terms in a single symbol in oriental culture, makes us rethink some concepts petrified in ours, "explains the band.

With a quotation from Gandhi, 'There is no way to peace, peace is the way,' Orange Oliva brings current questions to music, which featured a chorus of 500 children, ages 5 to 12, from E.M.E.I.E.F. ARACY NOGUEIRA GUIMARÃES, located in the neighborhood of Lagoa Nova, on the outskirts of Limeira, in the state of São Paulo. "We believe that this is the solution to all the concerns that make up the day to day of those who built themselves in the" Information Age ". Among so many extremes, we see inner peace as the key to all the questions that body and mind are predisposed to have, "said the members. Check the sound:

The Heavy Metal Box Set (Collector`s Edition)

Rhino's 4-disc HEAVY METAL box is the most comprehensive anthology of the influential genre ever. Featuring legendary stars from multiple labels, the box's size lives up its thundering sound arranged chronologically, it collects 70 classic tracks tracing the evolution of metal through its first golden age, 1968-1991. Encompassing proto-metalists, hard rock icons, thrashers, progressive acts, speedsters, pop-metal MTV favorites, and more, a who's who of masters get their due. The box also boasts essays from Ronnie James Dio and Lita Ford, plus and a detailed history of metal by Mick Wall. Surveying the last years covered by the box, Wall concludes, metal had come full circle to the point where it was simultaneously riven by so many new categories and subgenres that you needed an encyclopedia to make sense of it all and yet it was more universally popular than ever before. The same could be said today so fly your devil horn salutes and crank it to 11 for five hours of musical mayhem.

The Disco Fever

Disco is a music genre and subculture that emerged in the mid-1960s and early 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Disco started as a mixture of music from venues popular with African Americans, Hispanic and Latino Americans, Italian American, and psychedelic hippies in Philadelphia and New York City during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Disco can be seen as a reaction to both the dominance of rock music and the stigmatization of dance music by the counterculture during this period. Several dance styles were also developed during this time, including the Bump and the Hustle.

The disco sound is typified by "four-on-the-floor" beats, syncopated basslines, and string sections, horns, electric piano, synthesizers, and electric rhythm guitars. Lead guitar features less frequently in disco than in rock. Well-known disco artists include Donna Summer, the Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor, KC and the Sunshine Band, the Village People, Thelma Houston, and Chic. While performers and singers garnered public attention, record producers working behind the scenes played an important role in developing the genre. Films such as Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Thank God It's Friday (1978) contributed to disco's mainstream popularity.

By the late 1970s, most major U.S. cities had thriving disco club scenes, and DJs would mix dance records at clubs such as Studio 54 in New York City, a venue popular among celebrities. Discothèque-goers often wore expensive, extravagant and sexy fashions. There was also a thriving drug subculture in the disco scene, particularly for drugs that would enhance the experience of dancing to the loud music and the flashing lights, such as cocaine and Quaaludes, the latter being so common in disco subculture that they were nicknamed "disco biscuits". Disco clubs were also associated with promiscuity as a reflection of the sexual revolution of this era in popular history.

Disco was the last popular music movement driven by the baby boom generation. It began to decline in the United States during 1979-80, and by 1982 it had lost nearly all popularity there. Disco Demolition Night, an anti-disco protest held in Chicago on July 12, 1979, remains the most well-known of several "backlash" incidents across the country that symbolized disco's declining fortune.

Disco was a key influence in the development of electronic dance music and house music. It has had several revivals, such as Madonna's highly successful 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, and again in the 2010s, entering the pop charts in the US and the UK.

Merry Christmas from Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton’s first ever full-length studio holiday album, Happy Xmas, is on Clapton’s Bushbranch Records/Surfdog Records. Happy Xmas is Clapton’s 24th studio album and his first since 2016’s “I Still Do.” It mixes instantly recognizable holiday classics with lesser-known unique titles along with an original new song “For Love On Christmas Day.” The Bushbranch Records/Surfdog Records set, which features a cover illustration of Santa Claus by Clapton, is Slowhand’s 24th studio album and his first since 2016’s I Still Do. The album’s 14 tracks are a mix of standards including “White Christmas,” “Silent Night,” and "Away in a Manger" and lesser known holiday tunes, along with an original new track, “For Love On Christmas Day.” Claption's rendition of “Jingle Bells" is dedicated to "the memory Avicii," due to the singer's admiration for the late DJ.

"I had in my head that these holiday songs could be done with a slight blues tinge, and I started to figure out how to play the blues lines in between the vocals,” said Clapton, who co-produced Happy Xmas with longtime music producer Simon Climie. “I got it down and one of the most identifiable songs on the album, the one that became the foundational style, is ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.’”
