With the recent release of ...Breu, my friend...

With the recent release of 'The Hot Rats Sessions', I just couldn't resist. I have a new self-compiled Zappa mix to share with you - 'The Hot Rats Sessions: 6 Jazz Compositions & 1 Mutant Blues'. 'Hot Rats' has always been among my favorite Zappa recordings, further developing the jazz leanings that began to surface on its predecessor, 'Uncle Meat'. I chose to exclude 'Son of Mr. Green Genes,' 'Willie the Pimp' and 'Big Legs' (aka 'Gumbo Variations') simply because at their core, those songs are essentially jam sessions. In avoiding other excessive jams, I also elected to go with the more compact 1970 Record Plant mix of 'Bognor Regis'. Lastly, I would've have liked to additionally include 'Dame Margret's Son To Be A Bride (In Session)', but it, and especially its later remakes just didn't comfortably match the mood of the more acoustic numbers. Hope you enjoy it.

Fique bem and merry Christmas!

Miles

https://www76.zippyshare.com/v/Kb8zXsrP/file.htmlMileshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03083074922230498894noreply@blogger.com
