This German metal band sounds like a mixture of Queensryche, Crimson Glory and a little bit of Metal Church all rolled into one band. Guitarist Ricci Tessalla plays like a madman on this record. His excellent guitar work is a reason to pick up this record all by itself. Singer Jack Steen has very good vocal range, but not even a great singer can save average sounding songs, and the song writing on Rats is definitely lacking. When playing through this disc, I keep waiting for a stand out song, and the best moment I can find is the instrumental, Break One. Pack Bites the Last would have to be second. Sadly enough, after spinning this one a couple of times, the band comes across as a second hand Queensryche.
