Toshiaki Yokota & The Beat Generation - Acid Jazz (Japan)

Toshiaki Yokota is a Japanese composer and flutist. A pioneer of jazz flute in Japan, started his carrier at 17 years old, known as a lead flutist in Takeshi Inomata's Sound Limited. Now, Yokota lives in Izu-Inatori and maintains his own studio on the sea to create his original music world using instruments created by himself. He has been doing live performances at various cities in Japan, as well as being active in film and TV music.

"Flute Adventure" is a mix of flute based underground acid psych and ethnic woodwind journeys drizzled with a dash of cocktail lounge. So, yes, a little Yatha Sidhra, a little Bjorn J:Son Lindh, some Jeremy Steig, even a smattering of Herbie Mann – all through the Ohr label aesthetic of phased out monsters like Annexus Quam. And it’s a full band effort, not just an album with solo flute. No, this one has plenty of fuzz guitar and tribal percussion to add to the party. Absolutely essential for the freakshow hidden deep within you.

Beautiful album from 1970 of the hottest Japanese Jazz Funk / Soul Jazz LP around, killer psychedelia all the way, check the incredible progressive tune 'clair deluge'...
