Nick Riff started his music career as a bassist of Serpent, an Hard Rock trio with Richie Hall on guitar and vocals and Rick Browning on drums. They released one single in 1978.
After participating in other bands and developing his psychedelic guitar skills he decided to move forward to a solo career and after been noticed by Delerium Records he managed to produce his debut release From the Heart of Oblivion, a six song cassette, in 1989.
In 1996 he formed a band called Nick Riff's Freak Element (spelled Nick Riffs' Freak Element in their debut album The World's Alive).
After a few years spent in the background he launched his own label Riffdisc mainly focused on his unreleased material.
