EL CIRCULO DE WILLIS - Eclectic Prog • Spain

A quartet made up of tanned musicians in stages of different halls and venues throughout the state gave form to El Circulo de Willis, a project that now presents its new reference: Retales (2015), a self-produced disc and shaped like a vinyl where they eliminate any type of limit, fusing their music that is a journey through different styles, where rock and jazz will dominate between these compositions, compositions that wrap us for more than half an hour of music. Face A of this installment is entirely occupied by Puerta 186 (01), where an initial melody in the flute by Gonzalo Solas twists, advances, grows and gains energy, always supported by the solid base that Ivan Pozuelo (Drums) generate. Increase the speed and enter the sound of the saxophone, who soon after dialogue with the bass of Tomas Fernandez, being then the turn of Sergio Segovia to the keyboards, presenting the band in less than six minutes of the 18 that this initial track lasts. Follow this sound trip that surrounds us and there is no pause, generates enough desire to listen to the entire record.
The man in the crowd (02) starts Cara B, where they have had the collaboration of Alvaro Espinosa (Pink Tones). The melodic weight continues in the saxophone, always very well included within the rest of this band that proves that there are no limits in their compositions. Fracture follows (03), which arises from the final idea of the previous topic, showing a more powerful start and this being a good delivery of its technical capabilities...
