Leslie Overdrive - Jazz & Funk (Denmark)

Leslie Overdrive is a Danish band formed in 2005 by Kapper-Dapper musicians on drums, Craig "Zilla" Kristensen on bass, "Dynamite" Mads Nielsen on guitar and "Reverend" Kristian Jorgensen on the powerful hammond organ. The quartet despite coming from the icy countries produce a hot sound and full of suingue with much funk and soul. With The Hammond, In The Beauty is the debut album of the band and was released in 2007 by the label Hammondbeat, full of wonderful funks still has two great versions one of Drive My Car a classic of the Beatles and the other of the wonderful theme jazzistico The Chicken by Jaco Pastorius. With dancing beats, well-marked guitars and amazing Hammond organ, this is the sound of Leslie Overdrive, a good request for those cold days that you have made in SP, enjoy!

"In the beginning God created the four men.
Now these four men were square and empty, darkness was over the surface of their souls, and the Spirit of God was hovering over them.
And God said, "Let there be Hammond," and there was Hammond. God saw that the Hammond was good, and He separated the Hammond from the Leslie. God called the Hammond "funk," and the Leslie he called "soul." And there was funk, and there was soul—Leslie Overdrive.
It was in 2003 that Craig and Kapper first met. They quickly discovered their mutual love of swirling Hammond and thus, there was only one way forward.
In early ’05 they came into contact with Kristian who joined their former cabaret-project “Funksovs” (Funkgravy). But only a few months after the arrival of “The Reverend” they decided to turn the boat in a whole new direction. Teaming up with Craig’s childhood schoolmate Mads, all four now looked onwards and upwards towards a future filled with fun, love and buckets full of Hammond."
