Silvano Chimenti - Jazz Rock (Italy)

Chimenti began his career by founding the Beat group of The Planets, with whom he moved from Taranto to Rome and had his first recording experiences, and with which he also appears in some films. He continues his career as a guitarist in Pataxo and the Others, but also began his career as a session man at ARC and RCA: in A World of Love by Gianni Morandi, the guitar arpeggio with which he begins the song is his.

In 1970 he recorded Journey through the problems of man: drug for the Roman Record Company of Gaetano Pulvirenti (the co-founder of Karim): it is a fully instrumental album, with beat, jazz and psychedelic flows, which is considered by many of the first Italian progressive albums.
In the early '70s he plays in some records that have made the history of Italian music, such as This little great love by Claudio Baglioni, All Modugno by Domenico Modugno and Not to money, not to love nor to heaven and History of an employee of Fabrizio De André.
He also collaborated with Ennio Morricone, playing in the soundtracks of the film Four flies of gray velvet and Sacco and Vanzetti.

Together with the jazzman Enrico Pieranunzi, he formed Pulsar in 1976: their only album is used for the soundtrack of the film Mario violenta by Mario Caiano.
Chimenti then entered as a guitarist in the RAI orchestra, and in this role he played in several editions of the Sanremo festival.
In 1992 he recorded a jazz CD, titled Soft impression, as Silvano Chimenti quartet, in which he participated as guest Oscar Valdambrini. "
