ATEMPO - Neo-Prog • Argentina

During 1999 in Argentina, Daniel Noya (vocalist) decides to create a band and joins Eduardo Aguirre (Guitar), Sebastian Chiarini (Guitar)and Hiro (Keyboards) with whom he starts to work in the project, for the year 2000 and with some compositions they call Pablo Villanueva (Bass) and Claudio Fazio (Drums) so ATEMPO is completed.

But before the year 2000 ends, Ganiel Noya leaves the band and is replaced by Julian Juarez, but he they decide to continue searching for a more appropriate voice to represent the band and in April of 2002 Mariella Gonzalez (Former NEXUS vocalist), with who they release the band's debut "Abismo del Tiempo".

But the problems continue and after recording the album Sebastian Chiarini decides to leave ATEMPO.

The first album is well received in Argentina and reaches number 35 in European charts, but again in 2004 due too health problems Mariella has to leave the band and music, being replaced by Zeta Katzman.

According to their site, before Mariella leaved the band, they had a second album called "Bienvenidos al Circo de los Túneles" but in December 2005 the band surprises everybody changing the name of this second release for "Simple"

The style of ATEMPO is influenced by Camel but has a lot of Operatic elements, but in general terms is hard to compare them with other bands, because despite you can find some influences from Geness and Marillion once in a while, their sound is very versatile, being able to be soft and calm in some themes but strong and close to Hard Rock in other tracks.

Both albums are good additions to any Prog collection and prove that Neo Prog didn't died with the 80's decade as many people still believe.
