Nação Zumbi - Manguebeat - Rock (Brazil)

Nação Zumbi (formerly known as Chico Science & Nação Zumbi) is a Brazilian rock band, born in the early 1990s in Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco, from the union of the post-punk rock band Loustal, with the samba-reggae block Lamento Negro, and was originally called "Chico Science & Zumbi Nation". The leader and vocalista of the band, the singer and composer Chico Science, founded, along with the band Mundo Livre S / A, the movement Manguebeat. Alongside bands like Raimundos and Planet Hemp, he was responsible for opening doors for Brazilian rock from the 90s, being one of the most influential Brazilian bands of all time. On February 2, 1997, Chico Science died due to a car accident while driving from Recife to Olinda. In his place in the vocals came Jorge dü Peixe, who already played in the band.
