A different musical style (at least for me), drum'n'bossa emerged in the mid-1990s, peaking in the early 2000s in Rio de Janeiro from the need to renew the country's most popular music, the Bossa Nova. The style then peaked early in the decade. Today, Brazilian drum'n'bossa and drum'n'bass have greater influence and performance abroad, mainly in the USA and Europe.
The biggest names of drum'n'bossa or electro bossa, as it is sometimes called, were and are, internationally, Fernanda Abreu, Fernanda Porto, DJ Patife, DJ Marky, DJ Bungle, Kaleidoskopio and many others. (http://trancetronic.wordpress.com/category/drumnbass/)
