Biography:

Airbag released their debut album Identity on Karisma Records in April 2009. Hailed as one of the best progressive releases of the year, the album feature scenic, epic rock or, as legendary Classic Rock Magazine said: “This Norwegian five-piece specialize in prog at its most chilled, honeyed and soothing”.  Since the formation in Oslo, Norway 2005 the band has managed to create their own, unique sound with elements of classic and progressive rock, chill and jazz with influences ranging from Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree to Talk Talk, Radiohead and A-Ha, to name a few. However, Airbag never relies on their influences, but follows a long tradition of experimenting beyond genre restrictions. 

The band has also become a solid live-act playing at several major festivals and as support and in double-bills with bands like Anathema, Pineapple Thief, Riverside and Gazpacho. An Airbag show is a unique experience of sound and strong visuals with extensive use of backdrop film to underline the music. Through an impressive network community, Airbag has gained a substantial following throughout Europe and in Holland and Poland in particular. For four consecutive months in early 2011 Colours (Identity 2009) was listed in top 10 on the Polish national radio hit-list peaking at number 3. 

Airbag is Asle Tostrup – lead vocals, Bjørn Riis – guitars & vocals, Jørgen Hagen – keyboards, Henrik Fossum - drums and Anders Hovdan – bass.
