Jean Michel Jarre - The Pioneer of Eletronic Music

Jean-Michel André Jarre (Lyon, 24 de agosto de 1948) é um instrumentista, compositor e produtor musical francês, filho do aclamado compositor de trilhas sonoras Maurice Jarre. Jean-Michel é um pioneiro da new age, música eletrônica e música ambiente. É conhecido como um organizador de espetáculos ao ar livre de sua música, que combina luzes, displays de laser e fogos de artifício. Seu primeiro grande sucesso foi o álbum Oxygène, lançado em 1976. Gravado em um estúdio improvisado em sua casa, o álbum vendeu cerca de 12 milhões de cópias em todo mundo. Oxygène foi seguido de Equinoxe, lançado em 1978, e em 1979, Jarre se apresentou para um público recorde de mais de um milhão de pessoas, na Praça da Concórdia, em Paris, França, um recorde que ele mesmo quebrou três vezes. Mais álbuns seguiram-se, e seu show de 1979 serviu como modelo para suas actuações futuras em todo o mundo. Até o ano de 2004, Jarre tinha vendido aproximadamente 80 milhões de álbuns.[2] Ele foi o primeiro músico ocidental a ser autorizado a realizar um show na República Popular da China, e detém o recorde mundial para a maior público num evento ao ar livre.

Oxygène 3 is the nineteenth studio album by the French electronic musician and composer Jean-Michel Jarre. Announced via a post on Jarre's Instagram account, the album was released on 2 December 2016, on the 40th anniversary of the original Oxygène album. During the recording of his Electronica albums, Jarre composed and recorded a piece that he said "made me think about what Oxygène could be if I was composing it today." With the 40th anniversary in mind, Jarre decided to record another chapter of Oxygène, with the original minimalist approach in mind, but using new technology to create it. During the Electronica Tour, Jarre previewed the track Oxygène 17, which was released as a single on 4 November. For the artwork of the album, Jarre returned again to longtime collaborator and artist of the original Oxygène album cover Michel Granger to create a 3D model of his original painting that served as the cover for Oxygène. Oxygène 3 was released as a standalone album on CD, digital download and LP, as well as in the Oxygène Trilogy package. The Oxygène Trilogy was released on CD in digipak format, and in the Ultimate edition, which contains the CDs of the albums, as well as transparent vinyl and an exclusive coffee table book.
