Greta Van Fleet - Hard Rock (USA)

Greta Van Fleet is an American rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan, formed in 2012. It consists of vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist Sam Kiszka, and drummer Danny Wagner. They were signed to Lava Records in March 2017 and a month later the band released their debut studio EP, Black Smoke Rising. Their debut single, "Highway Tune", topped the Billboard US Mainstream Rock and Active Rock charts in September 2017 for four weeks in a row. A second EP From the Fires, containing the four songs from Black Smoke Rising and four new songs, was released on November 10, 2017, alongside a second single, "Safari Song". Their debut full length studio album, yet to be titled, is scheduled for release in late 2018, with the first single, "When the Curtain Falls", being released ahead of it in July 2018. The band's heavy rock sound is influenced by the work of Led Zeppelin and many other rock and blues acts, with lead vocalist Josh Kiszka having a voice that has been compared to Robert Plant's "husky howl."

For a year now, many in the rock world have been quick to liken Greta Van Fleet to one of the genre's greats: Led Zeppelin. Now the young Michigan band has received a blessing from rock's mountain top, winning the endorsement of Led Zep singer Robert Plant. In an interview this week with Australia's Network Ten, the iconic front man promptly cited Greta Van Fleet when asked about up-and-coming bands he appreciates.

"They are Led Zeppelin I," Plant said.
