Hunt's Determination Band - Funk & Soul

Artist Biography by Eugene Chadbourne
While determination is obviously a good thing in the music business, in the case of this late '70s soul outfit the question is who "Hunt" is, since there is nobody by this name on the group's records. The reference might be to hunters and hunting, not exactly a typical subject in the cosmic funk of the late '70s, although the classic Albert King song "The Hunter" might be an inspiration. The group cranked out a pair of albums in 1979 and 1980, sought out with routine intensity by collectors of this genre and reissued by the quite thorough Earwax outfit. Members of the group included brothers Bernard an Johnny Brown on guitar and saxophone respectively and the fine trumpeter Danny Reedemar. Everyone in the band sang, chanting classic philosophy of the day such as "Where the Funk Comes From".
