Founded in July 2011, NAKED TRUTH is a multi-national quartet whose members hail from Italy, Norway, and the US. Their core sound resembles the atmospheric electric jazz such as might be heard on the ECM label, but a multiplicity of other prog influences, plus some electronica and ambient, make for an unusual stew earning it a seat in the Avant Prog realm.
Drummer Pat MASTELOTTO is well known in prog circles, having been King Crimson's drummer since 1994; the other three players also have extensive experience in a wide array of styles: keyboardist Roy POWELL (handling Fender Rhodes, acoustic piano, Hammond Organ, and other keys) has played along size jazz greats including Art Farmer and Anthony Braxton. Bassist/guitarist Lorenzo FELICIATI is a world reknowned bassist with several recordings and festival appearances to his credit. And Graham HAYNES (on cornet) is the son of none other than jazz drummer legend Roy HAYNES, though he has made his name in areas outside of jazz, exploring sound shaping through cutting edge technology.
