The big band from Minas Gerais, center of Brazil, specialized in afrosounds, Iconili, is releasing a new production that deserves more listens. “Piacó”, which means “bird that sings” in a indian language, fulfills even more the band’s sound cauldron that has it’s feet on afrobeat but extends even more to brazilian rhythms like carimbó, center of Brazil music, samba and also other languages such as funk, ethnic jazz, rock’n’roll and good doses of psychedelia. The album consists on eleven tracks of high intensity and had part of its costs funded via crowd funding with the help of fans. Why don’t you also turn a fan of Iconili?
