The Rome Pro(g)ject (Vincenzo Ricca, Steve Hackett, Francesco Di Giacomo, Billy Sherwood) - Symphonic Prog


This is a conceptual musical project about ancient Rome, conceived as a trilogy by Italian keyboardist Vincenzo Ricca. Several internationally reknown players from the progressive rock scene have been invited to take part in the adventure: Steve Hackett, John Hackett, David Cross, David Jackson, Francesco Di Giacomo, as well as several other Italian or European musicians. 

The Rome Pro(g)ject is a Symphonic progressive rock project lead by Italian keyboard player and composer Vincenzo Ricca. In addition to Ricca's keyboards, the music of The Rome Pro(g)ject features contributions from well-known British and Italian musicians. Two of the central participants are Steve Hackett (Genesis) and David Jackson (Van der Graaf Generator) who both have played on all three of The Rome Pro(g)ject's albums. Other contributers include David Cross (King Crimson), Richard Sinclair (Caravan), Francesco Di Giacomo (Banco del Mutuo Soccorso), and Billy Sherwood (Yes).




A Musical Walk Through The History & The Places:
The Greatness & The Beauty Of The Eternal City


Some of the most important names of the progressive rock scene comment and celebrate in music the greatness and the beauty of Rome in the special event of the 2765th anniversary of its foundation. An instrumental prog music oriented concept album with 10 unreleased tracks written and/or performed by artists such as ( in alphabetical order) David Cross (King Crimson), Francesco Di Giacomo (Banco), John Hackett,Steve Hackett (Genesis, Gtr, SH Electric Band),David Jackson (VDGG), Nick Magnus, Richard Sinclair (Caravan, Hatfield and the North, Camel), …and MORE!!!

The Rome Pro(G)ject II – Of Fate And Glory


Three and ½ years after the huge success of  their eponymus debut album, “The Rome Pro(G)ject”, Steve Hackett on guitars (Genesis/Gtr/Solo), David Jackson on winds (VDGG), Billy Sherwood on bass (Yes/Circa/Solo) and Vincenzo Ricca (keyboards), teamed up with a bunch of fantastic musicians, are about to release their second album, “II – Of Fate and Glory”.

66 minutes of instrumental progressive rock in 10 tracks plus a bonus one.

As per its title, this is a (musical) story “of fate and glory” about ancient Rome, from its beginning dated 753 b.C., up to its maximum territorial expansion, reached in 117 a.C., after 870 years of continuous conquests of the then known world.

Not coincidentally, the cd album will be released on April 21st., on the day of the 2769th anniversary of Rome’s foundation.

One and a half year after the hvge svccess of their second album “OF FATE AND GLORY”, “The Rome Pro(G)ject” release their third cdalbum
EXEGI MONVMENTVM AERE PERENNIVS
57 minvtes of instrvmental progressive rock in 10 tracks plvs three unreleased tracks as a bonvs.
As per its title, that means I RAISED A MONVMENT MORE LASTING THAN BRONZE, the possibly final chapter of TRP saga is an instrvmental concept album abovt the end of the roman empire and the awareness that “non omnis moriar”, not all dies!
Not coincidentally the cd album will be released Dec. 7th, 2017, on the same day TRP released their first cdalbum five years ago.

Cara, demorei para conseguir reunir esta coleção. É um super-projeto produzido entre 2012 e 2017, pelo tecladista, arranjador e compositor Vicenzo Ricca (http://www.vincenzoricca.it/). O projeto foi dividido em três partes que contam a história do Império Romano; sua origem, ascensão e queda. É um trabalho instrumental, mas intercalado com algumas narrativas que servem de guia para essa viagem musical. Francesco di Giacomo é o narrador do primeiro álbum e também é homenageado no terceiro álbum da trilogia. 
Dá para imaginar? Só ouvindo para perceber no que resulta quando misturamos, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Camel, Genesis, YES, Van Der Graaf Generator e Banco del Mutuo Soccorso."
